How to Get Involved
Public participation is encouraged early and often. Please send us your questions and comments any time at gallatincanyonwsd@gmail.com. A few other ways to get involved are listed below.
Attend Board Meetings
The GCCWSD board meets roughly monthly to discuss and act on District administration and project work. These are always open to the public and public comment is welcome. Click here to see past and upcoming meeting details. If you would like to receive notification about upcoming meetings, please email the District at gallatincanyonwsd@gmail.com to be added to the email list.
Express Your Support
The Canyon Sewer Project will benefit from strong community support as the District works to secure funding and move the project forward.
At this stage, the District’s priority is demonstrating broad public support to the Gallatin County Commission and potential funding partners. Community involvement can help strengthen grant applications, support future funding opportunities, such as a TEDD formation, and highlight the importance of this project for the canyon area. If you are willing, please let the Commission know that you support the project by sending letters of support or speaking up at Commission meetings. Here is a draft letter that you can customize and send to the commission at commission@gallatin.mt.gov.
Join the District
The GCCWSD is still growing. If you own property in the canyon area and have not yet annexed into the District, please consider joining. To learn more, click here.
Join the Board
The GCCWSD is governed by 5 board members. Two positions will be up for election in 2027. If you are interested in this leadership role, feel free to reach out the board to learn more and/or submit your candidacy to the county elections department when the time comes. If there is only one candidate for each vacancy, the positions will be filled by appointment, without an election.
